We know it's a bummer when you're planning a trip and the weather takes a turn for the worse, but we can't give refunds for bad weather. No matter where you are in the UK, it's always possible that you'll get caught in a downpour. The best piece of advice we can give you is to dress appropriately for the weather on the day and keep an eye on the forecast! We're sorry to say that if this happens on the day of your narrowboat hire, we won't be able to issue you a refund.

We ask your party to bring no more than two vehicles. You can park close by if there are more than two. If this does not work for your party please get in touch with us before you travel.

Walking is quicker than cruising in a narrowboat. If you're going faster than pedestrians on the towpath then you are probably speeding (unless they are really slow!)

There are moorings alongside the 'Grand Junction Arms' at Bulbourne, Tring. This canal-side pub has a great menu and seating inside and out. 10 minutes further and you'll reach 'Waters Edge' restaurant which has incredible food, great service and friendly staff. They also have seating inside and outside.

We don't mind if you want to party on a boat, but we do ask that you keep it classy. We don't allow "stag" or "hen do" parties. You're welcome to come with a group of friends, but we ask that everyone behave in a calm and respectful way. If you show up drunk or rowdy, we won't be able to let you board the boat—and because this is a strict policy, there will be no refunds given under those circumstances. You may certainly bring alcohol on board but please don't bring a ton of it. The boats weigh 12 tons and are made of thick steel plate. What could possible go wrong?
